The Spirit of Christmas

I absolutely LOVE this time of year!  I love the music, lights, decorations, shopping and the spirit in the air.  I just love everything about Christmas.  This is one of my favorite songs at Christmas.  Melanie put it with a video years back and I loved it but couldn't find the right video but here is one I did find.  Not my favorite but its the song I want to share.  So here is to the reason we celebrate Christmas.  I am so thankful for the strength of Mary and Joseph and all they sacrificed to make sure this beautiful baby was able to come to the earth and fulfill such a great purpose.  I love my savior and am thankful everyday for what he has done for me.  I am who and where I am only because of him.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well I don't have any actual pictures from Thanksgiving but it was such a fun weekend.  Roy ended up getting to come home so he got to experience a Frew Thanksgiving.  Spencer, Audra and their family came in as well.  While they were here we went to Temple Square to see the lights and we went to the Joseph Smith movie while we were there.  It was so much fun even though it was FREEZING!

Awesome red tree.  I love all the lights!

And a white one...

Garrett and Sam

The floating lights.  I think they look so awesome!

Mom and Dad.  Dad couldn't walk with his bad back and you can't see the arm in the big sling but he was a good sport and let us push him around in the wheelchair.  I think he had it best with all those warm blankets on him!

Just thought this pic was cool

This was a set up they had in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  Its the only group photo I got.  It was such a fun weekend.  Amy and Roy had to go back early so Roy could go back to work but I was glad they all got to come home for Thanksgiving.  Being the only one left here I have realized even more than before how much I love my family and love when they come to visit.  I love the kids and how excited they get to see me.  I am so thankful for all of them!

Thankful

I love the time of year we are coming into.  I love Christmas but sometimes we all seem to overlook Thanksgiving.  This is one of my favorite songs and wanted to share.  This year has been quite a hard one for many reasons so it has been good for me to listen to this song and remember that I do have so much to be thankful for.  I have been trying to think of 1 thing to be thankful for each day and though that should be something easy to do it is quite difficult some days.  I am so grateful to have the love and support of so many people in my life.  I know that things happen for a reason and that we are better because of it so lets hope that I learn what I need to from this year and I hope a better one is on its way.

Hunting

It was that time of year again.  I love the hunting season.  I love going to Flaming Gorge and seeing the way it looks in the fall and I love spending the time with my family and the Barbers.  We always have a good time.  I only got to go up for one short weekend so I only got a couple pics.

Apparently pulling a silly face means looking towards the ground...these girls crack me up!

I love this picture.  She is so dang cute.

I told her to smile and this is what I got.  I didn't even realize it until I was looking at the pictures later.  What a dork.

The awesome bald eagle we saw.  My dad got it to fly for me to take a picture of the full wing span but when I snapped all I got was the blue sky.

Goodbye House

Well we sold my Grandma and Grandpa Frews house that is right across the street.  It is bitter sweet.  Grandma hasn't lived there for a while now but it is still hard to see it go to someone else.  Every time I drive by I still glance at the porch and expect to see Grandpa with his big grin and wave.  Mel had me take some pictures for her so hey why not blog about it.

We had a lot of fun at this house and in this backyard.  I am so grateful for my family and the great relationships I have been lucky enough to have with my Grandparents.

The Big 30

I guess I should catch up on a couple big events.  In August I turned 30 and I try to forget but here is a  quick look at what my day looked like.

The lovely balloons from Amy

My Moms beautiful art work

Thanks to my friends...though it was better than being weinerized...

It was just another day.  I did luck out that most of my family all lives away so they didn't do too much damage.

HARRY POTTER

One of the HUGE highlights of this summer was the final Harry Potter movie.  It was a bittersweet night for us.  Haylie, Michelle and I pretty much spent the whole week before getting our shirts made and toes done to be ready for the movie.  Mel flew in from New Mexico just for this.  We had been planning this night for quite some time.  I am so glad so have such fun friends to do these things with.

Must say Haylie and I were pretty proud of this.  Haylie did an awesome design job.  We came up with this saying sitting waiting for part 1 to begin.  It is creepy and no one really knows what it means...but that is what we love about it.

Haylie was awesome and designed all these shirts for us.  Michelle and I did the hard work of ironing them on...at least some of them.  We had so much fun coming up with the saying and thinking we were hilarious!

Us with our dark mark tattoos.  Didn't really work like we hoped but at least we got a picture of them

My awesome toes in the colors of gryffindor house thanks to Lynsey

The awesome house elf costumes.  I was very impressed with this group

Group of death eaters walking around with Dumbledores head on a stick...I thought it was hilarious

This cracked me up...its Moaning Myrtle

Summer Fun Continued...

Next up in my summer was youth conference and girls camp.  I am the laurel advisor in my ward and love my calling.  I have the best girls and I serve with such amazing women.  We have so much fun.

Here are some of my beautiful girls

Don't they look like they are having fun?

We had a dance party the one night of youth conference and I have to say us leaders put on quite the show.  Some of our girls were a bit obsessed with the cowboys that worked at the camp and so they got permission to have them come to the dance party.  Lets just say this was by far the highlight for these girls...

Kristen and Jen looking AWESOME for our skit...I still am not sure what our skit really was

The girls by the river.  They were crazy and had so much fun tubing

This is the closest we got to a group picture.  We had so much fun!  Love these girls!

Summer Fun

Well since I haven't really kept up at all on posting we will have to break it into a couple posts.  Now where to begin?  Probably the two main highlights were having Mel and the kids here most of June.  Unfortunately Jac could only come for a few days but we tried to make the most of it.  I spent every minute I could just hanging out with them.

We started out by having a Justin Bieber Party.  Maddie had been wanting to see his Never Say Never movie so I got it on netflix and we had a sleepover at my house.

Aidan LOVES Justin Bieber!  He was almost as excited as Maddie to watch the movie

Maddie with Justin Bieber

Boston struck a pose.  I love this boy!

And here they all are stocked up with snacks and ready to start the movie.  Jackson refused to get a picture by the poster but he was at least a good sport and watched the movie with us all.  He HATES Bieber as much as Maddie loves him.

We also went to the zoo while they were here.  Roy had never been to the zoo so we drug him along to see what all the hype was about.

We had a lot of fun that day...wish I had more fun pictures

Well everyone we are trying this again.  I am now on my own doing a blog so hopefully I can keep it updated better this time.  I have been working on this way too long tonight so I promise to post again soon with updates and pictures of everything I have been up to.  I promise it will be worth the wait!!
